This paper examines the psychological disorders that occur in an adult. Some disorders that a person may have could include: depression, bi-polar disorder, oppositional defiance disorder, borderline personality disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, or alcoholism. The paper will examine actual examples of how these disorders can affect one’s life (i.e.:jobs, friends, relationships, self-happiness). It also includes examples of how someone’s environment can bring about these psychological disorders. Some disorders are not caused by surroundings but by genetics. These are unpreventable, and usually more serious. There is scientific proof that the brain changes as the mind is aging, due to cultural differences. It is important to understand this in order to be aware of what psychological changes one’s own mind is going through and the ways to try and prevent possible disorders. Some disorders are unpreventable because some people are born with these disorders, or they are passed down by genetics, but the common disorders are usually brought about by environmental affects. This paper will show different ways and possible therapy a person can go through in order to prevent being affected by past experiences and psychological disorders.
